ATTENTION TO ALL MATAGAMON CREWS
MAINE HIGH ADVENTURE STARTS AT MT CHASE LODGE

Congratulations on your decision to plan a trip to the Matagamon Base for your scout troop.
It will surely be an exciting and memorable trip for all who attend.
Since 1976 we at Mt Chase Lodge have been helping to simplify the logistics of trip planning for troop leadership by providing a
convenient place for crews going to Matagamon to lodge and eat at minimal cost. This eliminates the need to bring extra food and gear.

We are twenty minutes from the Matagamon Base landing. After a good nights rest and a hearty Maine breakfast, crews making the trip are excited and ready for their trek adventure on arrival.

We offer two options for crews opting to stay with us:
1. Two meals, dinner and breakfast, and in house lodging in our main lodge, or available cabins for $34 per person, plus 7%
sales tax,
2. Or, two meals , as above and outside lodging in our 4-6 man staff tents for $20 per person plus tax.

Most of our groups arrive in the late afternoon giving everyone a chance to rest and unwind before dinner, which is usually served about 6:PM.
After dinner, many enjoy a quiet paddle on our lake, or a swim off our dock before turning in. We have been told on numerous occasions that MT CHASE LODGE makes an excellent transition spot for this trip, and we enjoy having the scout crews with us!

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:

Another service that we offer is ROUND TRIP VAN TRANSPORTATION to Matagamon from Bangor for crews who find it more convenient to fly or bus to Maine. We are only an hour and forty five minute drive from the airport or bus station. With one phone call, leadership can arrange both transportation and lodging and meals, making that part of the planning process simpler . The per person cost for this service is $65.

DEPARTURE SERVICES:

After coming off the trail, many crews opt to spend their last night in Maine with us as well, This allows them to get a restful start on their trip home and may want to be considered. A 5% discount is available for the second night We strongly recommend that crews wishing to make reservations with us do so at the time they make their reservations with the Matagamon canoe base. This avoids scheduling problems later on. A 25% crew deposit is required to confirm reservations. Over the years hundreds of scout crews have found our services to be helpful in their trip planning efforts.
